Environmental issues affect us all and every small positive action contributes to the greater goal of achieving a global balance with nature.  At Barons Self Storage we have been working for many years on ways to reduce our carbon footprint and continue to enhance our technology.

Lighting & Maintenance

We started with our lighting initially. Our motion-sensor LED lighting is installed in appropriate areas throughout our buildings. With LED lights consuming 80% less than traditional light fixtures, we have been able to achieve a higher level of energy efficiency. As a result, our facilities operate more sustainably, with lights turning on automatically only for a pre-set number of minutes when motion is detected.

We have always ensured that all our equipment has the highest BER rating possible and by regularly maintaining our HVAC systems we further reduce our waste by as much as 30% annually.

Solar Panels

This year, we have moved into the next phase of energy efficiency and installed solar panels on the roof of our Galway facility with the aim of making it almost 100% autonomous, (depending on the climate and light hours). We would hope that through these investments, we will cut our monthly energy consumption by 60% and offer an attractive option to consumers who value eco-friendly services.

Eco Friendly – Cleaning Products

Whenever possible Barons Self Storage choose eco friendly cleaning products over traditional chemical products. From toilet cleaners to heavy industrial cleaning products we are always searching for the small ways to minimise the impact we cause in the environment around us.
