Frequently Asked Questions

Potential customers have many questions and we are happy to answer those based on our experience. Each customer has his/her own specific questions but we have compiled a list of the most frequently asked ones. These may be of use to you. Click on one of the questions below to view the answers. If your questions are not answered here, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address your concerns.

How long do I have to sign up for?

The minimum storage period is two weeks. We invoice every four weeks and when you want to move out all we ask is for one weeks’ notice. Any monies paid in advance will be refunded to you after this time.

When can I get to my belongings?

Our office hours are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Our office is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays. 24 hour access can be facilitated and there is a small fee for this.

How much notice must be given when I move out?

One weeks’ notice is required prior to moving out.

Do you offer a mover?

No but we are happy to organise it for you or to put you in contact with a reputable local mover.

Do you offer a Free Move in Service?

Yes we have a 3.5 tonne moving truck that we provide with a driver subject to availability. We will drive our truck to your house, you load it and we will drive it back to our facility where you will unload it into your room. The truck is available at 10am or 2pm and must be reserved in advance.

What sort of security do you have?

Barons Self Storage has extensive security features including:

  • 24 hour Closed Circuit TV located both inside and outside the main building monitoring all entrances & exits
  • A sophisticated twin alarm system, one for the building and one for each storage unit
  • Coded electronic access to the building accessible only with your own personal code
  • You are the only key holder, and only you or your designee has access to your room

What do I need for identification?

You will need a picture ID (Driver’s license or passport) and a copy of your most recent utility bill.

What is included in the price- are there any hidden extras?

Our storage price is the price you pay. There are no hidden charges. However, you must provide your own lock for the unit and you must have adequate contents insurance for your possessions. We can provide both of these for you at move in if you do not have them.

How can I make a payment?

Once you take a room with us we set you up on our automatic payment system. You can decide if you want the payment to be taken from your debit/Credit card or by Direct Debit. You must have a credit card or debit in order to take a room with us.

What sizes do you have and how much do they cost?

We have a wide variety of unit sizes to meet your needs. Room sizes and prices vary. Please contact us for available sizes and prices.

How do I calculate how much storage space do I need?

We can assist you in determining the right size and room type. Just give us a brief description of what will be stored and we will help you determine how much space is needed, and which environment will work for you. You can also visit our “What Fits” page and watch a visual 3-d rendering of various room sizes to help you size up your requirements.

Do you sell Locks, Packing and Moving supplies?
